P2CAT – HSEM Award of Excellence

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) sponsored the 46th Annual Governor’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Conference on March 8-10, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel – Riverfront, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

As part of the conference, HSEM recognizes individuals and organizations that exemplify the purpose of emergency management: to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

P2CAT was the recipient of the Homeland Security and Emergency Management Award of Excellence for Outstanding Private Partnership.

We’d like to thank our P2CAT (former and current) team  members for their precious volunteer time and dedication to growing and strengthening our partnership with our HSEM colleagues.  We have a professional and committed P2CAT team that continues to demonstrate our public-private sector engagement with government officials to facilitate information sharing and support response activities before, during and after events that engage the State of Minnesota Emergency Operations Center.

In addition, I would like to thank all those within the Minnesota InfraGard chapter who had the vision of establishing the HSEM-P2CAT partnership many years ago, and have provided us a means to demonstrate the public-private partnership is so important when it comes to assisting fellow Minnesotans in time of need. – John Olson, P2CAT Director
